adds automation and speed

A new high performance Heidelberg Diana X 115 offering a new level of automation and speed has been incorporated into Offset Packaging’s 15,000 sq ft folder gluer factory extension.

“The Diana perfectly complements the existing Grassi and Bobst Starfold machines and was chosen after exhaustive testing of all alternative options,” said Offset Packaging’s Director of Production, Vince Brearey.

“It was not the cheapest option but the quality of the machine is unmatched. It has a high level of build and versatility which gives us the benefit of a wide range of straight-line and crash lock constructions.”

The Diana X line was specified with the WH Leary Array® 6 high-pressure glue application system, Diana Prefeeder and Diana Packer. This optimises operator input and ensures maximum automation and speed.

“Speed is the key in this volume-based sector. With this facility we are that much faster, guaranteeing improved lead-times, more consistent quality and a more competitive price”.

Offset MD Frank Wallace and Internal Account manager Gemma Cornford monitor the performance of the new Heidelberg Diana X115.

Vince pointed out that the automatic packing facility was a massive advantage.

“Other machines without this function meant two extra people on the packing end of the machine. That would have limited the speed as a person can only work so fast. With an automatic packer, however, you can obviously increase the flow."

“The WH Leary QA detection system means we can run at full speed without fear of quality suffering. You are always guaranteed a superior product at the end of the line," he said.
