Offset Packaging has chosen KBA’s state-of-the-art DensiTronic to underpin its provision of high quality, reliable and consistent services and drive for ISO 12647-2 accreditation.

Installed on its six colour large format Rapida 142 press the DensiTronic system delivers precise fully automatic measurements of density and dot gain controlling quality control with unfailing accuracy.

Offset Packaging’s Director of Production Vince Brearey explains: “Maintaining our momentum in the competitive packaging and fine art sectors demands zero tolerance in quality and colour consistency. With its reportability and precision the DensiTronic gives us the required technical edge.”

“Customers today expect ISO standard assurances. We installed the Rapida 142 four years ago and have now enhanced its advanced technology with the DensiTronic - an investment that will go a long way in helping us achieve ISO 12647-2 accreditation.

Offset MD Frank Wallace and Internal Account manager Gemma Cornford monitor the performance of the new Heidelberg Diana X115.

Mark Nixon, KBA UK Executive Sales Director, adds that the software has a number of profit enhancing and time-saving benefits: “DensiTronic cuts waste sheets by 100 or so as it learns to surge the ink keys on each unit on start up and therefore reduces the over/under inking familiar with balancing jobs.”

“It is specifically useful when dealing with ultra low inking areas as it cuts back the lowest inking requirement to meet densities with the others. Combined these savings also have the added attraction of creating a more sustainable production.”

Offset Packaging’s Print Manager Mark Jeavons said: “The opportunity to add performance-enhancing solutions retrospectively ensures that we will continue to offer a competitive and business winning service.”
